Samples to be tested for folate should be protected from the light. Light accelerates the degradation of folate.

Avoid Hemolyzed Specimens as Results Can Be Affected

Handle and store specimens in stoppered containers to avoid contamination and evaporation.

Centrifuge specimen to remove the plasma/serum from the cellular material after collection.
