This assay includes Zika, Chikungunya, and Dengue Viruses

The pregnancy status of female patients and the date of travel exposure for all patients must be included with this order

Specimen Required

Specimen Type: Serum only or serum and urine combo. Serum must be submitted with urine

*  Serum should be collected within ≤ 14 days of symptom onset

 

Container / Tube: RED or GOLD top blood tube (serum) or sterile container (urine)

*  At least 1 mL of urine must be submitted in a screw-capped vial, do not submit urine in its original collection container (done in the laboratory)

Testing Schedule

Specimens are transported to the Montana Public Health Laboratory in Helena Monday thru Friday prior to testing.

 

Days Performed: Monday through Friday

Turn-around Time: Results are reported within 24 hours
