Fecal lactoferrin testing is automatically included with all Stool Cultures (STLC), Gastrointestinal Panels (GIPCR), and C.diff Algorithms (CDIF)

Container / Tube: Clean, airtight container (raw stool)

*  Stool preserved in Cary-Blair transport media may also be submitted but raw stool is required

*  Tightly secure all containers, leakage of the specimen may prompt rejection

Special Instructions

DO NOT take fecal specimens from the toilet bowl

DO NOT mix urine with the fecal sample

Testing Schedule

Days Performed: Monday through Sunday

Times Performed: All Shifts, 24 hours a day

Turn-around Time: 15 minutes, may be longer depending upon the time of day, workload and staffing
